This film, commissioned by Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, was made about me, the new studio location on the Portland (Welbeck) Estate in Berriedale and new wearable work with red deer antlers, silver and gemstones. The film was made by Soft Error for the exhibition 'Hunting for Lost Crafts'. |

My film IMAGO was re-edited for REAL TO REEL a touring exhibition of the Crafts Council UK (Inverness Museum and Art Gallery 18.04-30.05.15)
with footage relating to the recent solo exhibition Blood & Bones. Imago is the last or adult stage in insect development. Here, the transformation in insect life is used as a dreamlike metaphor for very human ideas and inspirations in my work. The film was shot in the coastal region of Caithness in the Scottish North Highlands, referencing the local light, fauna, flora, archaeology, burial traditions - and threats to the human body. I am interested in fears of modern man towards the body, anatomy and death. |
