Every single link of these silver necklaces is hand made. As a result every one of those necklaces is a one-off. The piece on the left was made from lamb bones, which Jeanette Sendler brought back with her from a study trip to Mongolia. The latest neckpiece was made with cow bones from Caithness. The bones were boiled, bleached, sawn into slivers and then linked together with silver rings. Bones are flammable and when soldering the silver links, temperatures of over 700 degrees Celsius are reached - it is easy to scorch the bone! Then, every link is hand finished - the surface texture makes them quite unique. The dragon plaque top right was sawn from thick silver sheet and threaded onto a neckpiece with onyx beads.
